About Me

An upstate NY native and midwestern transplant, I love science and women's health and helping people get in touch with their bodies. I am a graduate student in biochemistry and a FEMM (Fertility Education and Medical Management) educator-in-training.

After several years and three different forms of hormonal birth control, my body just felt out of whack. I was suffering from increasingly bad side effects, fatigue, and a general sense that there had to be something different. A friend led me to Natural Family Planning (a specific variation on fertility awareness-based methods) and I was hooked. Here was a highly effective means of pregnancy prevention that didn't require anything but my body's natural hormones and biomarkers. The scientist in me also loved understanding the data of my cycles in real time. I've become convinced that this is the knowledge everyone with a uterus deserves, in order to treat our bodies with the dignity they deserve and allow ourselves to rest and feel connected with our hormones rather than fighting them. You aren't broken. There is a better way, and I'd love to show you!

Why Work With Me?

Fertility Awareness from a Secular and Scientific Lens

Currently, I am accepting clients who want to learn body literacy and how their body really works! I am also accepting clients who want to use this knowledge for pregnancy prevention.

Fertility awareness is for everyone, and so are my courses! We might be a good fit if you're looking for an instructor who is supportive of all gender identities, relationships, and religious backgrounds. Partners are welcome in my courses, regardless of marital status or sexual orientation. While the FEMM Method is highly effective for those choosing to abstain during the fertile window, I am also supportive of clients' use of barrier methods or other methods that work for them.

My teaching is casual, fun, and focuses on the importance of health and body literacy whether or not you want to have babies. In my day job, I am a scientist, and so my teaching is always evidence-based and I love to focus on the scientific principles behind fertility awareness! I am also trained in inclusive teaching for science and higher education, and I bring this experience to my course as well.

Quick Notes:

  • The FEMM Method on its own is a method of Natural Family Planning. I am happy to work with Catholic couples or others who are not comfortable with discussion of barrier use/withdrawal. However, my courses are not currently approved for Marriage Prep for the Catholic Church.

  • I am not currently working with clients who are postpartum/breastfeeding or peri-menopausal. I am happy to help you find an educator who is a good fit, though! Send me an email or schedule a consultation.
